Dirty Rotten Scoundrel(s)

I personally feel that the verdict handed to Salman is very harsh. This is because it is his first crime. He does not have a track record and he is not a hard core criminal.

VS.

Apart from the hit-and-run case, there are four cases registered against him in Jodhpur by the police and forest department.
In the first case he was convicted for killing an antelope on September 28 ,1998.
In the second case, Khan allegedly killed two antelopes, called black bucks, on September 29 for which he was given one year's imprisonment and fined Rs5,000 (Dh417) on February 17 this year.
The third case involves poaching of black bucks on October 1, 1998. The co-accused, also Bollywood stars, Sonali Bendre, Saif Ali Khan, Neelam and Tabu who were part of his hunting group.
The fourth case is under the Arms Act for a gun without licence.

No wonder you're a dubai based lawyer.

How appropriate, GN shoved you up the ass, just a few pages apart. Now I'm wondering whether that was unintentional or deliberate. I'm siding with the latter.

I personally do not care for him, having met him and seen how he can change his ways toward someone once he finds out who they are. As for his lawyer, well we know who we will not use should we need representation in the future.
As for his criminal record.....I think we all KNOW what he is truly like, now it is time for him to find his true self.

I was quite surprised at the backlash against Salman. It's hard to believe that the junta is actually waking up (I have an uncanny feeling that it's Rang De Basanti which bought it up). Years back when he ran over those people, there were some sympathizers with him. Now everyones out to get him. And thats a good thing :-)))

@trader
It is a big deal, because anyway he will be released by the time you read this reply. At least he got to see the insides of a jail. Sanjay Dutt was imprisoned for owning a gun. And I sincerely hope his female crowd don't go into a frenzy and make a 'comeback' out of him. C'mon ladies, tear up those posters!
Burning candles is a new phenomenon in India, there were people who burnt them for that schoolgirl rapist in kolkata a while back. I couldn't control my rage when some lovely women spoke of forgiving him, with that bloody candle in their hand at 3 in the morning. To hell with them.

trader - read the links.

He shot them on a nature reserve in Jodhpur where there is a community of people that believes that the black buck is a reincarnation of their god.

What if he had shot a white cow instead?

He managed to get away with running people down on the footpath - not once, but twice.

And then they bring him over here and make him some sort of spokesperson for Belhasa Driving School. Some sort of punishment that is. On second thoughts, maybe it is! lol.

I agree that 5 years is a bit steep, but the guy did something wrong which he has to answer for.

Same for anyone who does something against the law. Just because people get away with something worse doesn't make it right that Salman gets away for what he did. That would really be turning away.

In the end, it will all work out. You cannot escape the ultimate judgement of whatever God you believe in.

Faux pas? think again. He didn't come here to inaugurate their school. It's just that the inauguratiion came in between what he came here for.

To do what the rest of his tribe stopped coming here for.
